Good Morning!!!

Sorry for not having been around for a few days, things have been a mess around here and I'm just now becoming human again!!  I'm so far behind and I know there are people that think I'll never get done the things that I need to get done (you know who you are), but I promise, I'm working on it and I'll have stuff finished in a day or so.

It's a balmy 35 degrees in ole Sunny Calhoun this morning!!  Yes kiddies, the frost is threatening us like some schoolyard bully, but as of yet that bully is just threatening, not actually kicking our ass!!  The humidity is a soaking 98% with the fog hanging around for a while yet! Here are a couple of pictures to give you the idea:

This picture is looking toward Hathaway St. from my front porch.  There is one house and a yard between me and the corner.  It's foggy enough that you can't see the corner.

This picture is the back of the lot I live on.  Just a few seconds before I took this picture a huge doe was standing there "blowing" at me, she didn't like that I came back there.

As you can see, it's thick humidity this morning!!  With it being 35 degrees, the damp just seems to seep into every pore and chill you to the bone.  And the forecast says that we will have a high of 65 degrees with the sun shining brightly.  And it seems as though that pattern will repeat throughout the weekend.  Can any one say "sinus infection"??

Anyway, enough with the weather report!!

I'm not sure what is going to be going on throughout the weekend, but the "town yard sale" starts on Friday and I'm busting to go see what I can find.  The only problem is that I can't carry much of anything up the hill to the house, so I'm going to have to find someone to at least come down and pick up anything I buy.  Hopefully I'll find a small kitchen table with several chairs because I'm getting sick of eating my meals at the coffee table in the living room. (I don't have kitchen/dining chairs, and I can't eat every meal standing up, so....)

John is doing much better, although he, like the majority of folks around here, has the "creeping crud" which, on top of everything else that has happened with him, has sapped his strength and made him just a little grouchy (can  you say Scrooge McDuck??).   Anyway, he's suppose to get his friend Danny to come over and fix my front porch (one of the floor joist came loose and it needs to be jacked up and replaced) and perhaps help me replace the floor in the bathroom, as well as hang a new front door (you can see two inches of daylight under the present one) and maybe even fix the light in the living room.  Can you say "Wishful thinking"???  But, whatever gets done is less that needs to be done, so I'll be happy.

Friday I go back to see what the local clinic has to say about my hand.  If they still can't figure it out I'm requesting a referral to a specialist.  There is still way too much pain for me to do much of anything, and I can't keep taking non-aspirin pain killer four times a day, my stomach won't handle that much longer.  Hopefully SOMEONE out there can figure out what's what and do something to fix it, I HATE this!

Okay, enough bitching!!  On to other things!!

I've been thinking about offering a free primitive pattern or two.  I've had time to sit down and draw out a few stitchery patterns as well as an ornie or two.    Being the person that has searched the web high and low for free primitive patterns, I know that there really aren't too many out there, so I thought I'd post a few of my own designs.  It's just a thought at this point, but, depending how much longer I'll be crippled up, it's something that I could do that is at least "crafty".  (Right now I can't do any stitchery, or sew very well, and trying to cut out patterns makes me crazy, so I'm having withdrawal symptoms!!)

Anyway, y'all let me know what you think about my idea.  Maybe if I get some feedback from ya it will prompt me to actually do it instead of just thinking about it.

Here are a few pictures for you to enjoy.  These are old family pictures that I have scanned into the computer and plan to use for some altered art.

This is my mom, Tressia Mae Miller, when she was 18 years old.  The year is 1957.  She sure was a pretty hillbilly wasn't she??

This is my mom and day on the day they were married.  The date is Aug 27, 1959.  They were married in Magoffin County Kentucky and my dad was only 19!! (he lied about his age!!!)  The night they were married they went out dancing all night and dad says he was whipped when they got back to my grandparents house, but he still went squirrel hunting with my grandpa!!

This is my aunt Mary Rose during pioneer days in 1960.  She and my mom dressed up and had a really good time!!

My grandparents, now both gone.  This picture is in 1961.  Neither of them look comfortable getting their picture taken, and this picture makes them both look mean, but they were both the most loving people you would ever want to meet.  My grandmother was George Ann Wireman and my grandfather was Green Miller.  I can still remember their 50th wedding anniversary!!

This picture is Uncle Jake Wireman during World War I.  I'm not sure of the year, and I think he was my great uncle, or my great, great uncle.  I'm still trying to find out more about him, because I don't remember him.  I'm not sure if he made it through the war okay or not, but I'm determined to find out!!

Anyway, thanks for stopping by!!  Hope you've enjoyed my old pictures and are looking forward to more being posted.

Have a good day!!

Blessings!
